Galerie 14-16 invited a number of artists to work with the subject panorama.
The only criterion was that the lenght of the work of art would be at least four times the height.
In this exhibition works are shown from artists who worked with this concept before.
But also from artists who took the challenge to work with this difficult theme for the first time.

KASTEEL GROENEVELD

The exhibition "Landschap Leeft" is based on an essay that professor Matthijs Schouten
wrote for "Kasteel Groeneveld". In this essay he describes the relation between man and nature.
This produces four different types of landscape like ancient forest, peat areas, the savage sea and
the Dutch Wadden shallow.
In the Arcadian landscape the age-old combined action of people and nature is visible;
the landscape of sweet pastures, fields and wooded banks. In the rational landscape, man dominates
so we will see the large-scale agriculture, airports, highways and business grounds.
The post-modern landscape finally shows us the industry areas, the amusement parks and the
new "wilderness" that has been realised in many places.
In the exhibition we will see a film presentation, three elements with works of art, a
landscape game and a topicalities section.
